What should I do after a Brazilian Wax ?

  • Apply soothing lotion on your genital areas. Something containing aloe vera & chamomile.

  • To avoid irritation of the skin, avoid for about a day after your Brazilian wax session:

-  Saunas, sun/tanning and heavy or excessive exercise.

-  Don't jump in a hot bath for the rest of the day go for a warm shower instead.

  • Wait 2 days then regularly exfoliate (twice to three times per week max). It helps to remove dead skin and avoid ingrown hair.

  • Moisturize the waxed areas with tea tree or lavender lotion after every shower as this has a soothing healing and antibacterial effect as mentioned above.

What if I’m having my period or it’s around that time ?

  • There is no problem getting a Brazilian wax at this time of the month but of course you are likely to feel more comfortable and relaxed if you work around it. Just let us know.

  • The best time to have a Brazilian wax is a week after menstruation as the genital area is least sensitive during this time. In contrast, the pain is likely to be greatest immediately before and during menstruation when the area is most sensitive due to increased blood flow.

What if I’m pregnant ? Should I still wax ?

  • Again no problem in fact it would be easier than trying to shave. Give yourself a little trim before you come down, or we can sort that out for you.

  • Keep in mind that generally the further along you are in your pregnancy the more sensitive you will be to waxing so if it's your first time get in early.

How long does the hair have to be before waxing ?

  • The wax is most effective when your hair is about a centimeter long but it can be less for sugaring. About 4 or 5 weeks growth.

How can I prevent ingrown hairs ?

  • Ok, this is a tough one but here are a few tips:

Follow the instructions above for before and after care.

Use a facial scrub when exfoliating. Exfoliating the right way is key - ask us about that one and we can give you a couple of secrets.

You can also try the raw side of a potato peeling and tape it to the affected area. Leave it     on for 24 hours. Starch in the potato skin can help draw it out faster.

Alternatively we stock a great oil to help prevent ingrown hairs. Just ask one of our staff for help.
